Sora Activity

If you are looking for a quick, easy-to-digest report to show off how your students are using Sora, OverDrive staff and WSDLC project managers all agree that the Sora activity page is the report you need! The Sora Activity Page, found under the Insights tab in OverDrive Marketplace, offers at-a-glance insight into your students’ behavior and progress in Sora.

Your Sora activity page includes:

  • Reading data: This section tells you the total books opened, total time read, average time per book by format, and the average time per book by audience
  • User activity: This section shows you the achievements earned, average time per session, average time per user, and the number of unique users
  • Trending titles: Here you can see the top 10 titles by checkouts and the top 10 titles by time read

The PDF below will show you how you can access your Sora Activity page:

Things to Note About Insights

► Most checkout data is available through OverDrive Marketplace reports within 30 minutes. However, the checkout isn’t counted until a title has been returned. This means that if you are running a report to see how many checkouts there were last month, you may want to wait until a few weeks in to the current month before running the report; you wouldn’t want to miss any checkouts that started on the 28th of last month, but weren’t returned until the full checkout period 3 weeks later!

► In each report, there is a link to a help article at the top. This link will give you the low-down about that specific report:  terminology used, caveats, etc.

► Each month, WSDLC Project Managers will do a lot of the consortium-wide compiling for you! Before the 5th of each month, a new file will become available with the previous-month’s usage statistics, with earlier months’ checkouts updated to catch any checkouts that are returned later in the month.
You can find the monthly statistics at the bottom of the WSDLC Year-to-Date Statistics page
