It’s the first Tuesday of the month, and this week we’re sharing last month’s consortium-wide usage statistics; the titles that were newly added to the shared collections in September; sharable links to just a handful of the all-new consortium curated collections available in Sora (along with links to more information and training on curating collections); and a reminder on the current Advantage Bundle Carts that are available for consortium members to purchase and the WSDLC’s Flipped Classroom training series topic for September: Advantage Accounts.

September’s Usage Statistics
Students are back in the classroom and Sora usage is as hot as ever!
- 32,944 Audiobooks were checked out,
- 177,994 Ebooks were checked out, and
- 17,296 Magazines were checked out
…the highest checkout totals any September has seen so far.
The WSDLC began the year with roughly 497,741 students having access to the collections, and so far in the first month 48,711 students have checked out at least one title– another new September record! We’ll add, too, that a whopping 12,849 of those students are completely new to the WSDLC collections in Sora!

New Titles Added in September
Last month, 554 completely new titles were added into the shared collection! (This includes the all-new comics and magazines that were added to OverDrive’s subscription packages last month.)
- 30 Audiobooks: 2 Lower Elementary; 9 Upper Elementary; 5 Middle School; and 14 Lower High School
- 450 Ebooks: 190 Lower Elementary; 69 Upper Elementary; 41 Middle School; 149 Lower High School; and 1 Upper High School
- 74 Magazines: 7 Lower Elementary; 27 Middle School; 40 Lower High School

When you’re ready to purchase any of these packages, you can submit your order through their linked Google Form order forms. When completing the form(s), you’ll have the opportunity to specify in you’d like your purchase(s) to billed by invoice, issuing a PO, or by content credit that you already have deposited in your Advantage Account(s).

October’s Consortium Curations
Updated and brand new sets of the WSDLC’s curated collections are now showcasing in Sora!
Links to some of these curations are listed below; and all curation links are shareable, creating a simple way to share the Sora collections with your students and get them reading. Use these links and create QR codes for posters and other handouts, share information on your library website or digital school newsletters, support your school’s Battle of the Books team(s), and so much more!

October’s Flipped Classroom: Advantage Accounts & Marketplace
The WSDLC’s Flipped Classroom Series offers self-paced trainings to help new members get oriented (and as a refresher for returning members) with their membership and the Sora collections.
This month’s topic is Advantage Accounts & Marketplace: This flipped classroom introduces the Advantage program and walks users through how to use Marketplace to make the most of their Advantage accounts. Learn about Lending Models, adjusting the Content Access Level for your Advantage titles, make the most out of Class Sets, and so much more!
