Welcome to the WSDLC’s virtual conference booth!
On this page, you will find a wealth of information on the WSDLC, but if you have any questions, you can reach out to the WSDLC Project Management team at wsdlc-info@wils.org.

What is the WSDLC?

The WSDLC is a consortium that provides access to ebooks, audiobooks, comics and graphic novels, and magazines to K12 students across Wisconsin.

This collection of digital materials, accessed through the Sora platform, is shared between all member schools and their students. Schools also have the option/opportunity to purchase additional copies/titles that are available for only the students at their own districts and schools.

Why Join the WSDLC?

The WSDLC Project Managers and the WSDLC team of staff at OverDrive work together to help make offering digital materials to Wisconsin K12 students manageable, easy, and customizable.

Affordability

At $1.65 per student, a WSDLC membership is a very affordable way for your students to access over 110,000 copies of more than 23,000 unique titles of ebooks, digital audiobooks, magazines, and comic books in five collections based on students’ grade levels.

The WSDLC membership year runs from September 1st to August 31st, and schools can join at any time at a prorated cost.

24/7 Access to Over 110,000 Copies and Multiple Formats

With multiple copies of over 23,000 unique titles- including new releases, well-known classics, and the most popular stories- it makes it easy for libraries and schools to meet students where they are at.

From ebooks to readalongs; audiobooks to graphic novels; dual-language titles to magazines, whether students are reading for pleasure or for learning, they will have access to materials that best fit their reading styles.

Autonomy Over Content and Data

OverDrive is always listening to WSDLC members and making updates and adding features to support Wisconsin schools.
WSDLC Member districts will have access to these popular features (and many more):

Advantage Purchasing: Schools have the option to purchase titles that would be available for only their students. Add more copies of those most-popular, high-hold titles so that your students can read them faster; or purchase unique titles not included in the shared collection.

Advantage Filtering: This feature allows WSDLC member schools and districts to manage their content access levels and weed titles without affecting access for other WSDLC members.

Shelf Talkers: This newest Sora feature allows media specialists to highlight individual titles in Sora to inspire and encourage students to check out a title and read.

Student Dashboard: This feature permits districts to tailor learning to their students on a more individual basis. Following industry best practices to protect student-level data and privacy, the Student Dashboard feature allows districts to better know their students’ reading levels and interests.
