This year, the WSDLC team at OverDrive will share some of their best practices for Advantage Accounts and showcasing how WSDLC members can utilize tools and features available to them, such as curation, title hide, and ordering quarterly Advantage Bundles. They will also discuss what Advantage ownership means, and how districts can manage their local digital collections with tools such as title assign and holds management.
The Project Managers will share the results of the recent WSDLC Governance elections and appointments; an overview of the themes that came out of the 2025 membership survey; a review on what happened in 2024; and a preview of things to come.
We hope to see you there! This meeting will be recorded and shared with membership the next day.

Reach More Readers Challenge 2025 is Happening Now!
The 4th Annual Reach More Readers Challenge began on Thursday, May 1st! All WSDLC member districts that began their membership before March 1st, 2025 are automatically entered into this contest, and the school(s) that have the highest increase in students usage (as compared to March 2025) will win some sweet Sora swag for you and your students from OverDrive!
This week is brings this contest to the halfway point, and the number of users accessing the shared collections is barreling towards another record! Taking a look at members’ advantage accounts, some schools (that began their WSDLC membership before March 2025) have already seen a percent-increase in their students using the collections in the thousands! WOW! 🤩

So get ahead of the summer slide and increase awareness of the WSDLC collections by encouraging your students to participate in a friendly competition with other schools across the state!

Sora Sweet Reads Has Begun!
OverDrive’s annual summer reading program, Sora Sweet Reads, is open and ready to go! The Sora Sweet Reads collection is filled with simultaneous use titles for all reading levels, and will be available to all WSDLC members through August 25th.

New Titles Added in April
Last month, 285 completely new titles were added into the shared collection!
- 72 Audiobooks: 3 Lower Elementary; 3 Upper Elementary; 6 Middle School; 39 Lower High School; and 21 Upper High School
- 213 Ebooks: 41 Lower Elementary; 34 Upper Elementary; 56 Middle School; 59 Lower High School; and 57 Upper High School
- 88 Titles that a part of a series.
- 70 Subject Areas, with 90 titles in Juvenile Fiction; 86 in Juvenile Literature; 79 in Nonfiction; 44 in Young Adult Fiction; 38 in Juvenile Nonfiction; and 18 in Biography & Autobiography
- 3 Lending Models: 166 Metered access titles; 83 One Copy/One User; and 50 Subscription titles

Recommend a Title!
If you and/or your students are looking for a book in Sora that hasn’t been added yet, you can recommend the title to be purchased for the shared collection! The WSDLC website includes a Title Recommendation form that library media specialists, educators, and others at participating schools and districts can fill out to suggest a title for purchase for the shared collection.
Suggestions submitted through this form are collected by the WSDLC Project Managers and then reviewed against the WSDLC Selection Policy (Section C of the Collection Policy). Titles that are selected will be purchased once per month; and Project Managers will reach out to you if the title has been added.
