October Usage Stats, Flipped Classrooms: Advantage, and a Magazines Update Review

Happy Tuesday! We’re entering the third month of the membership year, and usage is going strong!

October’s Shared Collection Usage Statistics Available

October’s shared collection statistics are in! There were over 115,000 checkouts last month, bringing the total circulation for the first two months of the 2021-22 membership year to a whopping 219,947! Also, magazines sure seem to be a hit: they went live on October 22nd, and already had 1,989 checkouts in just those last 9 days of the month!

Flipped Classrooms: Advantage Accounts & Marketplace has Begun

November is Advantage Accounts & Marketplace month for the WSDLC’s Flipped Classroom training series! This flipped classroom introduces the Advantage program, and shows how users how they can use Marketplace to make the most of their Advantage accounts.

During Flipped Classroom months, materials on various topics are available for members to review, and OverDrive staff is ready to schedule one-on-one 20-minute sessions to answer your questions.

Magazines Update

Last week we were alerted members to a couple of bugs related to the new Magazines collection. Just in case you missed these messages, OverDrive is working on:

  • Missing Magazine Titles: We’ve received some correspondence from members about 9 missing titles that were part of the original list of magazine titles shared last week. (Many thank yous to each of you that pointed this out to us!)
    We checked in with OverDrive and there was a technical issue with uploading the 9 missing titles to collections. They did not want to hold the release of the magazines for 9 titles so WSDLC members could begin enjoying what is available without delay. OverDrive’s Marketplace tools team is working on a fix to get those titles added into existing collections soon.
  • Magazines [Incorrectly] Counting Towards Checkouts per User: OverDrive has notified us of a bug issue with the magazines counting towards checkouts. They are not suppose to, but right now, they are. OverDrive’s Sora and Marketplace teams are working on this and it should be resolved soon.

WSDLC Project Managers will send out updates as these issues are resolved.
