Happy Tuesday, everyone! The Wisconsin air is feeling a little more crisp, the leaves are looking a little more colorful, and the WSDLC is ready as always to share with you some helpful links and OverDrive updates!
Back to School Webinars: Recordings Available
In recent weeks, OverDrive Account Executive Connie Bowman and Account Managers Edwin Tucker and Lena Richardson hosted two Back to School webinars that focused on what’s new in Sora and Marketplace, how WSDLC members can make the most of their Advantage accounts, and answered members’ questions.
The recordings of these webinars are available to view by going to the following links and entering the passcode:

Flipped Classrooms: Getting Started is finishing up. MARC Records are coming up next!
During our Flipped Classroom months, materials on various topics are available for members to review, and OverDrive staff is ready to schedule one-on-one 20-minute sessions to answer your questions. We are excited about these training opportunities to get you, your students, and staff comfortable with the WSDLC collections and using them to their fullest capabilities.
September’s theme of Getting Started is wrapping up. During this flipped classroom, members can get an overview of how to use Sora, the different lending models, and an introduction to OverDrive Advantage accounts and Marketplace.
October’s theme is MARC Records. The MARC Records flipped classroom introduces members to the kinds of MARC records available through OverDrive and the WSDLC and how these records can be managed and uploaded into the Destiny catalog.

OverDrive Media Station is now Sora Showcase!
OverDrive has just finished rolling over all versions of their Media Station to the new and improved Sora Showcase!
The WSDLC’s Sora Showcase can be viewed (and shared!) here: https://ods.overdrive.com/v2/wsdlcwi
If you have an Advantage account and would like to feature an Advantage-specific kiosk, a list of available links is available at https://ods.overdrive.com/v2/wsdlcwi/accounts
Notable highlights of this update include:
-
- Free, unlimited access to the software. You can set up multiple instances (by building, location in your school, etc.)—all for free. Note that OverDrive provides the software, but your school is responsible for obtaining hardware separately.
- An updated look and feel that aligns with Sora and provides users with a smoother transition from the kiosk to the app.
- Admin tools within Sora Showcase to customize its display, including the ability to filter content based on format, language, audience, or subject.
- This feature allows you to create dynamic instances based on specific interest areas, like one kiosk for children’s titles in your elementary buildings and another for YA titles in your middle and high school buildings. For more information about using the Admin tools, please reference our updated setup guide: https://ods.overdrive.com/v2/wsdlcwi/setup-guide
- A landing page display with rotating titles to catch students’ attention.
- Expanded device support ranging from iOS and Android tablets to large touchscreen displays.
