What is Your Getting Started Story?, Flipped Classrooms: MARC Records, & Back to School Webinar Recordings

Hello! It is Tuesday once again, which means it’s time for a weekly update on WSDLC happenings!

Member Idea Exchange: What is Your Getting Started Story?

September is wrapping up, which means our Flipped Classroom Getting Started is also drawing to an end. With that, we’d like to give our members an opportunity to share their own “getting started” experiences! How did you hear about the WSDLC, and what made you decide to join? Were you able to dive right in and start building your own curated and advantage collections, or were you quickly connected to the consortium without much time at first to devote to it? Or maybe you inherited your school district’s WSDLC membership and learned about it through notes from your predecessor? Long or short, whatever your story is, we would love to hear it!
You can share your own story and read other members’ stories in the Member Idea Exchange: What Is Your Getting Started Story? Google Doc.

Flipped Classrooms: MARC Records Begins Friday

October 1st begins our next Flipped Classroom: MARC Records. The MARC Records flipped classroom may be short and sweet, but it is packed with helpful information for members. This lesson introduces members to the kinds of MARC records available through OverDrive and the WSDLC, and details how these records can be managed and uploaded into the Destiny catalog.
During our Flipped Classroom months, materials on various topics are available for members to review, and OverDrive staff is ready to schedule one-on-one 20-minute sessions to answer your questions.

Back to School Webinars: Recordings Available

In recent weeks, OverDrive Account Executive Connie Bowman and Account Managers Edwin Tucker and Lena Richardson hosted two Back to School webinars that focused on what’s new in Sora and Marketplace, how WSDLC members can make the most of their Advantage accounts, and answered members’ questions.
The recordings of these webinars are available to view by going to the following links and entering the passcode:

Please note: You must be logged in to Zoom to access the recordings. Each recording will only be available for 30 days.
